Apple’s proposed project for a new campus in Cupertino, Calif., has received the final stamp of approval from the City Council
Apple’s new headquarters — informally called the "spaceship campus" due to its oval shape — include the 2.8 million square foot, glass-sheathed oval main building, whose3D renderings were revealed in October, and an underground parking lot that can hold 2,400 vehicles. The campus will include a 100,000 square foot fitness center and a 120,000 square foot auditorium; additionally, Apple plans to build another 600,000 square feet worth of office and R&D buildings.
Though it was originally planned to open in 2015, due to delays the building is now expected to open mid-2016.
